How We Crate Our Products

Unlike other companies, we ship our doors on iron skids instead of wooden pallets. We also build a cage around the doors to ensure there is no chance of damage during transit.

What To Expect On Delivery Day

While we’ve secured your beautiful wrought iron door in a sturdy iron crate, there are a few considerations you should know about to ensure a smooth delivery experience.

How It Arrives:

  • Delivery truck: Your doors will arrive in the back of a box truck. Each truck is equipped with a pallet jack and liftgate for most orders, but there are some restrictions that you should be aware of.
  • Liftgate limitations: Liftgates have weight limitations and may not be suitable for extreme length doors. If the truck driver is not comfortable making the drop by liftgate, then it will need to be unloaded manually.

Weight and Offloading:

  • Weight: Wrought iron doors are very heavy. An average double door (72 x 96) will weigh roughly 1000lbs and an average single door (32 x 84) will weight roughly 600lbs.
  • Offloading: Because of the extreme weight, it will require adequate manpower for a simple and safe delivery. We recommend 2-3 people be on hand for this.
